From a trip to Laguna Coast Wilderness Park in late March 2011. Many of the plants there were in bloom as we hiked through, so our hike was very slow :)
Dodder (Cuscuta), a parasitic flowering plant, can grow into huge masses, as seen here. In this picture the dark-green plants are typical flowering plants, whereas the yellow threads are all stems of dodder that are parasitizing ("strangling" comes to mind) the other flowering plants.
